Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose has been involved in yet another court case.
This time Axl was on the receiving end of a claim filed by ‘Front Line Management’. The claim was for breach of contract in respect of an oral management agreement allegedly made with Axl back in 2008.
The agreement was allegedly for 15 per cent of commission from $12.5 million earned from performances. However it has been reported that the claim has been settled by the parties in advance of the trial that was scheduled for later this month.
It is a slightly odd situation as Axl previously brought a claim against Irving Azoff from Front Line Management for “sabotaging” his career.
If there is something to learn from Axl’s somewhat patchy career it is that you really do need to ensure that any agreements that you have (especially with managers as they tend to stick around for a while) are in writing so that there is no doubt as to its terms.
