The nominations for the 57th Ivor Novello Awards have recently been released. Predictably, in what has been an incredible year for Adele, the singer has four nominations, including two in the PRS Most Performed Work category – not a surprise since it is currently almost impossible to go into any shop or café without hearing at least one of her tracks!
Other nominations include:
Best Album: Adele – ‘21’; Kate Bush – ’50 Words For Snow’; PJ Harvey – ‘Let England Shake’.
Best Song Musically & Lyrically: Adele – ‘Rolling In The Deep’; Florence + the Machine – ‘Shake It Out’; Ed Sheernan – ‘The A Team’.
Best Contemporary Song: Nero – ‘Promises’; James Blake – ‘The Wilhelm Scream; Lana Del Rey – ‘Video Games’.
PRS For Music Most Performed Work: Adele – ‘Rolling In The Deep’; Adele – ‘Someone Like You’; Take That –‘ The Flood’.
The 57th Ivor Novello Awards will take place on Thursday 17th May 2012. Hopefully, unlike the BRIT Awards 2012, we may get to hear Adele’s speech this time!
