New automated music publishing platform, Cleerkut Royalty, simplifies copyright and royalty processes.

Professional Copyright & Royalty Administrator, Cheryl Potts, has launched a new automated music business platform, Cleerkut Royalty, as a digital solution encompassing all the tools and licensing information to aid a variety of professionals in the music industry in navigating royalty processes and music rights.

Originally launched to aid founder Potts in her own music copyright business, Cleerkut Royalty has reinvented itself as a centralised software platform after Potts identified there to be a huge gap in the market. Cleerkut Royalty now aims to help record labels, music publishers, indie music creators and self-released artists build a successful career; The website offers three different packages aimed at these differing levels of clientele.

For labels and publishers, the software aims to ease processes involving licensing agreements and catalogue management, increasing efficiency and allowing more time to be dedicated to making deals for their artists. For self-released artists, the website also includes an education package, simplifying information about rights and licenses to aid in understanding royalty processes and protecting the copyright of their own music.

This will assist in increasing profits for indie artists, as many online distribution platforms, while offering an easy opportunity to share works globally, offer little support in legal music management processes and can often prohibit the artists from generating substantial earnings.

Potts vision was to provide artists, even those with no experience in rights management, with a fair opportunity to understand their own entitlements in order to generate a real income be prepared when opportunities present themselves to ‘build their music legacy’.
