Legendary English rock band the Rolling Stones is being sued for copyright infringement by New Orleans songwriter Sergio Fernandez over their 2020 hit single ‘Living In A Ghost Town’.
In the suit filed in Louisiana, USA, Sergio Fernandez, who performs under the name of ‘Angel Slang’, has claimed that he gave a demo of his songs to a member of Mick Jagger’s family by way of a demo cd.
Fernandez further claims that the rock band has “misappropriated many of the recognisable and key protected elements” from two of his songs, “So Sorry” and “Seed of God”. The suit details that elements of both songs are present in the rock bands 2020 ‘Living in a Ghost Town’ single; the use of which were allegedly not authorised by Fernandez.
The Rolling Stones are yet to comment on the dispute.
