Ticketmaster Mexico could face millions of dollars in fines after over a thousand fans were denied entry to Bad Bunny’s concert in Estadio Azteca. Concert goers were told that their tickets were not valid, despite their tickets being purchased through Ticketmaster.
Ricardo Sheffield, Mexico’s federal consumer attorney, has said that fines to Ticketmaster Mexico could total up to 10% of the company’s 2021 earnings. Ticketmaster will have to give full refunds to fans plus no less than 20% compensation of their price paid for the scandal.
Bad Bunny was set to finalize his World’s Hottest Tour with two shows in Latin America’s largest stadium. However, concertgoers began to become frustrated when they were denied entry despite purchasing their tickets legally through Ticketmaster. Many fans were told that their tickets had been duplicated, meaning their ticket had already been scanned by somebody in the venue.
